Limited Edition Watercolour Prints

My original watercolour and acrylic artworks are all available for purchase. However, all of my paintings featured in this gallery are available as high quality Giclee prints using high resolution reproduction imaging and colour matching. Giclee printing at 1200dpi , using a 12 colour LUCIA archival pigment ink system, gives superb colour accuracy and gradation.

My artworks are all printed on professional archival art papers. Two types of fine art paper are preferred. We use a natural alpha cellulose fine art watercolour paper with a textured matte surface or alternatively a more environmentally friendly sugar cane (70%) and cotton ( 30% ) fine art inkjet paper. Sugar cane fibre is a rapidly renewable natural raw material. This is a natural white warm-toned paper with a clearly defined felt structure and tactile feel. Both these papers are acid and lignin-free with a resistance to ageing of more than 100 years.

Window Mounted Presentation

Your fine art Giclee print will be supplied mounted in a bevel-cut window mount in ivory colour with white or cream core and a high quality stiff backing board. This protects your artwork during transport and shipping and makes it ready to frame more cost effectively.

Mount size : ( unless otherwise stated ) is 406mm x 305mm with an aperture size of 298mm x 197mm, to fit the print dimensions 300mm x 199mm.

Barn House in Early Spring

Medium: Fluid acrylic on textured paper
Year: 2022
Barn House in Early Spring presents a tranquil rural landscape dominated by a simple stone farmhouse nestled among trees at the edge of a forest. The artist uses a soft, natural palette of greens, browns, and muted grays to evoke the damp freshness of early spring, when the earth begins to awaken from winter.

The composition centers on the barn and adjoining roof, their warm terracotta tones contrasting gently with the surrounding greenery. Bare trees rise on the right side, their pale trunks catching the cool light of the day, while evergreen pines and spruces form a dense, textured backdrop. The foreground, painted with loose, expressive brushwork, depicts uneven ground covered in moss and rocks, leading the viewer’s eye naturally toward the quiet dwelling.

The interplay of light and shadow creates depth and a sense of calm isolation. The atmosphere feels still, almost meditative—suggesting a place untouched by haste, where time moves at nature’s rhythm.

Holyrood Snow is a contemplative winter landscape painted in luminous fluid acrylic layered washes of blue and violet, evoking the quiet majesty of a frozen marshland beneath distant hills. The composition is at once intimate and expansive—an austere yet poetic vision of stillness at the edge of the wild. Through masterful use of light and tone, I have tried to capture the subtle beauty of reflected winter light, transforming coldness into calm.

In this work I am attempting to convey emotion through restraint. There is no human presence—only the serene weight of snow, the mirrored shimmer of ice, and the shadowed mountains beyond. The painting invites silence, a moment of pause within the vast rhythm of the natural world.

This evocative watercolour captures the haunting beauty of decay and the quiet persistence of nature. Against a brooding grey-green sky, the silhouette of crumbling stone ruins emerges through a tangle of bare winter trees. Their twisted, leafless branches stretch across the scene like dark veins, while ivy and undergrowth reclaim what remains of the structure.

The artist’s muted palette of moss greens, deep greys, and soft violets conveys a sense of stillness and melancholy, heightened by the ghostly light filtering through the mist. “Spooky” invites the viewer into a forgotten landscape—one that hums with memory and atmosphere, where the past lingers in the quiet air and time seems to stand still.

Stream with Boulders captures a peaceful woodland scene where sunlight filters through tall trees, illuminating two large moss-covered boulders beside a shallow stream. The interplay of warm browns, cool greens, and gentle golds creates a harmonious balance between earth and light.

I have tried to portray the texture of the moss and rock surfaces, using fine brushwork and layered washes to evoke depth and realism. Sunburst over Firth of Forth

Medium: Fluid Acrylic on textured paper
Year: 2023

Sunburst over Firth of Forth captures a breathtaking moment when sunlight breaks through heavy clouds, casting radiant beams over a tranquil coastal landscape. I have used the fluid acrylic medium to try to create a seamless transition between the vast sky and the reflective expanse of water below.

Soft greys, muted blues, and gentle golds blend harmoniously to convey the shifting atmosphere of a late afternoon or early evening. The distant shoreline and the faint silhouette of a structure—a lighthouse or coastal tower—anchor the composition, adding a sense of scale and solitude to the otherwise ethereal setting.

The result is a meditative work that celebrates both the drama and serenity of nature’s light.

Terracotta Hill

Medium: Watercolour on paper
Year: 2025
This striking landscape painting captures the grandeur of a rugged mountain rendered in warm, earthy tones. The peak rises sharply under a clear blue sky, its slopes bathed in sunlit ochres, siennas, and rust-reds that evoke the richness of baked clay and heather-dusted moorland.

The artist’s delicate handling of texture and tone conveys both the harshness and the beauty of the terrain—the loose brushwork in the foreground suggests coarse grasses and weathered rock, while the summit’s jagged crags command attention against the sky. A cool streak of grey stonefall cuts across the slope, introducing contrast and depth.

“Terracotta Hill” radiates warmth and solitude, celebrating the raw majesty of the natural landscape and the timeless allure of high, windswept places.

Woodland Ferns

Medium: Fluid Acrylics on watercolour paper
Year: 2022
Woodland Fern is a luminous and tranquil fluid acrylic painting that captures the quiet beauty of a sunlit forest clearing. I would like to invite viewers into a serene woodland scene, where soft morning light filters through a canopy of trees, scattering delicate highlights across the forest floor. A single fern in the foreground, its fronds unfurling toward the light, becomes the natural focal point — a quiet symbol of renewal and vitality.

Rendered with exceptional attention to tonal contrast and texture, the painting glows with life. Subtle variations in greens and golds reveal a mastery of fluid acrylic layering, while hints of violet and ochre lend depth and balance. The sensitive handling of light and shadow conveys both atmosphere and movement — the dappled light flickering across grass, trunks, and leaves.
This work exemplifies my deep engagement with nature and hopefully the ability to transform the fleeting beauty of light into a lasting, contemplative image.
